Its funny to see all the ways the Kindle is touted as being revolutionary, yet is still pretty mundane when compared to the timeless aspect of a honest, analog-format book.

This was painted on a column in Edinburgh; I took the photo this summer. Very contemporary style of typography for the top piece, the bottom is a fun, mix of calligraphy and rectilinear forms.

I took this photo in a large cemetery in Paris this summer. The bronze type on the mausoleum isn't quite like anything I've seen before. Feels like a mix between a medieval manuscript and a Vienna Secession-era style.
I'm guessing this is what happens when using a type stencil, and angling the drawing impliment a certain way that the resulting character has much thinner definition than what was intended by stencil. Gives a very clean, linear feel. The mashup quality is also makes it feel like a full pattern.
